How much does a business website cost in Kerala?

22 August 2026 · Usman Mahmood · TUS Global

Ask three companies in Kerala to quote for a business website and you will get ₹8,000, ₹45,000 and ₹1.8 lakh. All three will use the words "professional", "responsive" and "SEO-friendly". None of them will explain why the numbers are twenty times apart.

That gap is not dishonesty. It is that "website" describes two completely different things, and most quotes never say which one you are being sold.

What the price bands actually buy

Under ₹15,000. A template with your logo and text dropped into it. It will look acceptable on a laptop and it will exist. What you are not buying: pages built around what your customers search for, control over how it loads, or anyone accountable when it breaks in eight months. For a business that needs an address on the internet and nothing more, this is a rational purchase. For a business that needs the website to bring in enquiries, it is money spent on the wrong thing.

₹25,000 to ₹50,000. The range most Kerala businesses should be looking at. Five to twelve pages, designed for your business rather than adapted from a demo, a page for each service you actually want enquiries for, mobile handled properly, and the basic search setup that lets Google understand what you do. Our own pricing starts at ₹25,000 for up to five pages and ₹50,000 for up to twelve with proper service pages.

₹75,000 and above. Now you are buying software, not pages. Customer logins, a database, payments, bookings, dashboards — anything where the site does work rather than describing it. The price reflects architecture, security and testing, none of which are visible on the finished screen but all of which cost time.

The five things that actually move the number

Page count, but less than you think. Going from five pages to twelve does not double the cost. The design system is built once. What costs is the writing and the structure decisions.

Who writes the content. This is the biggest hidden variable in every quote. If you supply finished text and photographs, a website is faster and cheaper. If the agency has to interview you, write the pages and source the images, that is real work and it should be priced. Ask which one your quote assumes — a surprising number don't say, and it becomes an argument in week three.

Presentation site or application. A contact form is a presentation site. A customer login is software. If your requirement includes the word "portal", "account", "booking" or "payment", expect the higher band.

Custom code or a page builder. A page builder is faster to produce and slower to load, and you inherit a stack of plugins that need renewing. Custom code takes longer to build and gives you something you own outright with nothing to renew. We custom-code for that reason — though if a client genuinely needs to publish daily without us, we will say WordPress is the better fit rather than sell the more expensive option.

What happens after launch. Hosting, backups, updates and small changes either sit with someone or they don't happen. A quote that ends at launch is not a cheaper quote. It is an incomplete one.

Why the cheap website usually costs more

The ₹8,000 site does not fail on day one. It fails quietly over a year.

It loads slowly on a phone, which is where most of your visitors are, so people leave before it finishes. It has one page for six services, so it never appears when someone searches for the specific thing you sell. Its plugins go out of date and something eventually breaks. And when you want a change, the person who built it has moved on.

Then you pay again — but this time you also pay to migrate content, keep whatever search visibility you had, and redo the work. The rebuild costs more than building it properly the first time.

Questions to ask before paying anyone

  • Can I see three sites you built that are still live? Open them on your phone. If they load slowly on the developer's own portfolio, yours will too.
  • Who owns the domain, hosting and code when it's finished? The answer must be you. Any hesitation here is the answer.
  • Is content included, and what exactly do I need to supply? Get this in writing on day one.
  • What happens after launch, and what does it cost? Maintenance either has a price or it isn't happening.
  • Is the timeline and scope in writing before I pay anything? If not, the number you were quoted is not the number you will pay.

Any company that won't answer those five plainly is telling you something useful.

What we do

We publish our prices because the guesswork above is exactly the problem. Business websites start at ₹25,000 for up to five pages and ₹50,000 for up to twelve, with custom applications and online stores from ₹75,000 quoted against a written scope. Most go live in about two weeks once we have your content, and you get a firm figure in writing within one working day of us understanding what you need.

If you are weighing quotes right now and want a second opinion on what you're being offered, send us the proposal. We will tell you honestly whether it's fair — including when it is, and including when the cheaper one is the right choice for what you need.

More detail on what we build and how we work is on our web development page.

Tell us what's slowing your business down.

We reply within one working day with an honest view of what we'd do, how long it takes, and what it costs.
